From Family Craft to Footwear Industry

Our History

From a Family Craft to an Industry Serving Multiple Markets

The roots of the Tossitti family’s journey in shoemaking date back to the mid-1960s, when five brothers began working in the trade in Amman, gaining practical experience and mastering the details of the craft.

After returning to Hebron, their first steps began from a small shop in the Bab Al-Zawiya area, producing limited quantities through manual work and accumulated expertise. This modest beginning laid the foundation for an industrial journey that would continue for decades.

In 1971, this small operation evolved into a formal industrial project with the establishment of Tossitti Shoes, marking the start of a gradual expansion that built the foundation of a Palestinian family footwear industry that continues to grow today.

1971
The Beginning of Industrial Production

This year marked the transition from small-scale handcrafted production to the establishment of Tossitti Shoes as a small manufacturing facility, becoming the foundation of what would later grow into today’s factory. Production shifted from purely manual work to organized manufacturing aimed at meeting local market demand with improved quality and consistent supply, laying the groundwork for long-term industrial growth.

1980
First Major Industrial Expansion

As demand increased and products entered the market inside the Green Line, the need to expand production capacity became clear. During this period, modern Italian DESMA manufacturing machines were introduced, representing a major leap in production quality and efficiency. This upgrade increased output capacity and ensured more consistent product quality, allowing the factory to expand operations with greater confidence.

1995
Entry into the Egyptian Market

This period marked the company’s first real expansion beyond the local market through entry into Egypt. Production dedicated to the Egyptian market reached approximately 20,000 pairs annually, providing valuable experience in serving external markets and adapting production capabilities to different customer needs.

1997
Production Stability through the Green Line Market

Alongside international expansion, demand from companies operating within the Green Line market continued to grow, with production reaching around 50,000 pairs annually dedicated to this market. This consistent demand contributed significantly to stabilizing factory operations and maintaining continuous production activity over the long term.

1998
Expansion into the European Market

Entering the German market and collaborating with European companies represented a major turning point in the factory’s development. European markets required higher standards of quality and precision, leading to further improvements in factory operations. Export production volumes increased, strengthening the company’s reputation as a manufacturer capable of competing in demanding international markets.

1999
Establishment of New Tossetti

With growing industrial activity and expanding business relationships, New Tossetti was officially established as a private shareholding company. This step marked a transition toward more structured industrial and commercial management, enabling further development of production lines and stronger long-term partnerships while maintaining the family character that defined the company from its early beginnings.

2010
Entry into the Jordanian Market

Continuing regional expansion, the company entered the Jordanian market in 2010 through an official agency agreement. This step expanded the company’s customer base and strengthened its presence in neighboring markets while production continued adapting to suit the needs of each market served.

2024
New Expansion Phases

In recent years, additional expansions have taken place across production lines and manufacturing departments to meet growing demand. The company’s entry into the Saudi market in 2024 opened new opportunities for expansion within Gulf markets, accompanied by continuous industrial upgrades to support increased production while maintaining product quality.
